A turn in the weather has put a pause on all outdoor work for the last couple of days.

Buckets of rain and a massive temperature drop means muddy garden beds and cold soil.

No matter, Wednesday was a trip into the city for supplies and a little get away. Thursday was very blustery and so the day was spend inside tending a roast chicken dinner with all the fixings.

The sun is out today, but if the forecast is to be believed, it won’t be for long. Perhaps baking the first rhubarb crisp of the season appropriate.

The birds certainly don’t seem to mind the single digit weather, the feeding station is teeming with life and twitterpated interactions.

The May long weekend is typically the marker for planting in our zone 3. But this year we may need to wait a just little longer.

Still, Mother Nature continues to amaze with her resilience. We take a break, but she does not!
